Second Annual RumFeast at RumFire Po‘ipū Beach Features Special Menu with Rum Pairings

Rum is the star at RumFire Po‘ipū Beach’s second annual RumFeast on Friday, Aug. 4. RumFeast features Kōloa Rum-based, a la carte menu items and the option to pair each selection with a handcrafted Kōloa Rum cocktail. These special offerings will be available during RumFire’s regular business hours, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with the bar area closing at 10 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
Sheraton RumFire Cocktail
RumFeast’s unique menu highlights locally inspired dishes, such as a deconstructed “kamaboko” of shellfish with a Kōloa Coconut Rum gastrique and a Portuguese white bean soup with Kōloa Rum-glazed Portuguese sausage. Main offerings include Ni‘ihau Braised-Lamb Ravioli served with local Kunana Dairy goat cheese and a Kōloa Rum carrot puree and a Pink Peppercorn and Kaffir Lime-Crusted Ahi. A la carte items can be paired with inventive cocktails like the Papaya Cooler, featuring papaya-infused Kōloa Rum and kaffir lime syrup, St. Germaine and lemon. The refreshing Kōloa Presse includes Kōloa Gold Rum, Chambord and lime and pineapple juices. Finish the evening with a Flaming Banana Panna Cotta paired with The Golden Coffee, made with Kōloa Coffee Rum, Kōloa Gold Rum and half-and-half.

Here’s a feast for your eyes!  Pictured below is Aunty’s Papaya Cooler with Koloa White Rum, simple syrup,lime juice, fresh papaya, basil and salt rim.  Sassy’s Mai Tai (cocktail to the right) features Koloa Gold Rm, Koloa Coconut Rum, Cointreau, Falernum, simple syrup and lime juice.  The delicious dish is the Seared Rare Local Ahi, with pink peppercorn and kaffir lime crust, coconut sticky rice, papaya ponzu, OK Farms baby bok choy.

Individual item prices for RumFeast start at $10, and a limited number of signature dishes from RumFire’s regular menu will also be available.

RumFire Po‘ipū Beach, located at the oceanfront Sheraton Kauai Resort, features locally sourced cuisine with global influences and Kauai’s largest selection of rums. The restaurant will also host its third annual Kaua‘i’s Best Bartender presented by Kōloa Rum, a 15-week competition beginning August 11 to determine the island’s top bartender.
