On my days off, you can find me at Moke’s in Kailua (@MOKESBREADANDBREAKFAST) for breakfast. My favorite dish is either the Shinsato Farms Rabbit Moco or one of their benedicts, and definitely some of their fresh house made bread. Their food is delicious and never overdone – just showcasing great products.
After breakfast I’m on my way to a hike. My top 3 favorite hikes are:
- Old Pali Road (25 minute drive from The Royal Hawaiian)
- Mauna Wili Falls (25 minute drive from The Royal Hawaiian)
- Ehukai Pillbox Hike (about a 1.5 hour drive from The Royal Hawaiian)
The Ehukai Pillbox Hike is great because it’s not too difficult and the views are awesome. Maddi (my daughter) loves being strapped on to me, and takes in all the nature that surrounds us.
After the hike, we will usually go into North Shore Town and grab a sandwich at Storto’s (local eatery that has been around for nearly 40 years). Then we head over to Kaena Point for some beach therapy.
